Hey Girlies,
I hope you're all having an amazing day so far! Can you believe the weekend is right around the corner?! It's crazy how much time flies. Since Sunday is Father's Day, as well as the first official day of summer, I wanted to create an outfit that can hopefully give you an idea on what you can wear if you'll be attending a brunch to celebrate your dad or any man that has been apart of your life and represents a father figure. I'd first like to mention that if you're a single mom, your dad has passed, or grew up without a dad and was raised by a single mom, I think you or her should be celebrated again. Yes, Mother's Day was last month, but the reality is, unfortunately, many women are carrying both burdens, so they should be celebrated (everyday) on both holidays. If that's you, get dressed this Sunday and do something special!
I love leopard prints with a white or light base during the warmer months, although the traditional print works all year long. I feel it gives off a very light and breezy feel, one that is enhanced when paired with white pants. You've heard me mention many times how white reflects light, so it can make us appear a little heavier than we actually are; especially in pictures and with flash! If you are bottom heavy, generally the case for us pear or hourglass shapes, try wearing a top that's a bit more flowy in style that can be easily tucked in to create volume and dimension to the top, essentially balancing out the bottom portion, if you're concerned you'll appear larger; that's what I did with this look. This is also a great strategy for the rectangular shapes, since it can create an emphasis on the waistline by reestablishing the upper and lower portions of the body.
I hope you enjoyed this post and found inspiration from it. I'll see you all back here tomorrow with another post!
XO,
Jalisa
