Hey Beauties!

A piece I'm loving for summer is a longer vest. What I love about it is that it can take the place of a blazer on those really hot days that you want to somehow dress up your look. It'll add a nice finishing polish, creating a semi-casual feel. Above are some different ways that I plan on styling the vest I have this summer, which I hope gives you some ideas as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by and come again tomorrow for another post :)

Hey Girlies,

I hope you're all having an amazing day so far! Can you believe the weekend is right around the corner?! It's crazy how much time flies. Since Sunday is Father's Day, as well as the first official day of summer, I wanted to create an outfit that can hopefully give you an idea on what you can wear if you'll be attending a brunch to celebrate your dad or any man that has been apart of your life and represents a father figure. I'd first like to mention that if you're a single mom, your dad has passed, or grew up without a dad and was raised by a single mom, I think you or her should be celebrated again. Yes, Mother's Day was last month, but the reality is, unfortunately, many women are carrying both burdens, so they should be celebrated (everyday) on both holidays. If that's you, get dressed this Sunday and do something special!

I love leopard prints with a white or light base during the warmer months, although the traditional print works all year long. I feel it gives off a very light and breezy feel, one that is enhanced when paired with white pants. You've heard me mention many times how white reflects light, so it can make us appear a little heavier than we actually are; especially in pictures and with flash! If you are bottom heavy, generally the case for us pear or hourglass shapes, try wearing a top that's a bit more flowy in style that can be easily tucked in to create volume and dimension to the top, essentially balancing out the bottom portion, if you're concerned you'll appear larger; that's what I did with this look. This is also a great strategy for the rectangular shapes, since it can create an emphasis on the waistline by reestablishing the upper and lower portions of the body.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found inspiration from it. I'll see you all back here tomorrow with another post!

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all having an amazing day so far. Today's look is very feminine, with a combination of pink and beige. Pink, to me, is the definition of all things feminine, when it comes to colors. What I love about it is that different shades exude different sides of femininity; the lighter the shade, the softer the feel (our sensitivity) and the darker, the more intense and daring, similar to the emotions affiliated with red. Speaking of colors, if you missed my video on what the different colors we wear mean, watch that video here, I'm sure you'll learn something new! Now back to the look. I decided to pair these hot pink shorts with this beige ruffled satin-like blouse, since the shorts have a layer matching the color peaking through the cut out laser design on the sides. I originally planned on wearing nude shoes, but then I thought it would be more fun and summery if I paired it with these rainbow printed sandals. Since the shoes have green, I decided to through in my lime green purse. I love the way the entire look came together. It still amazes me how we can start off our look with one piece and by adding to it, creating a cohesive look!

One thing I want to point out is, do you notice how my legs appear much longer? That's because the top is tucked in and the shorts are high waisted. I would suggest this or a similar look to those of you who feel that your torsos are too long or that your legs appear shorter, or of course you just want to create the illusion of longer, leaner legs :) I've been asked this question frequently on how to achieve this effect and this look is a perfect example. I also have an entire YouTube video playlist dedicated to dressing and styling according to your height and frame, which you can watch here

Thanks so much for stopping by and check back again tomorrow for a new post!

Hey Beautiful!

To close out the work week, I felt it would be perfect to wear a little fringe number. I purchased this skirt a few months back at H&M and I've been so eager to wear it; it will definitely be one of my summer statement pieces you'll be seeing more of! I wanted to create a look that would be perfect for a night out, so I opted for this leopard printed top with leather sleeves. The leather on the sleeves tied in well with the leather skirt and I added a fringe bracelet to mimic the effect of the skirt's fringe.

I personally feel that anyone can wear a fringe skirt, it all depends on the kind of top you decide to pair it with. If your goal is to conceal a larger mid-section, I would suggest opting for a wrap detail on the bust area, it creates the illusion of a smaller bust and midsection ;) Below is an example of what I'd suggest for those of you who wish to create this effect.

Hello Loves,

I hope you're all having an amazing start to your week! I'm back from Florida and New York has given me a warm welcome home with some amazing weather, so I can't complain, as the transition was easy. Anyway, I receive a lot of feedback, mainly on my videos, from ladies that have wider hips and feel that some of the suggestions for bottoms I make can't apply to them. If you're one of those who've left a comment like, "great tips, but won't work for me..." then you'll most likely remember me telling you that one strategy to help balance out the shoulders and upper body with your wider hips are wide necked tops, like a boatneck for example. I felt it would be a great idea to post some of my top picks that I'm loving this season to help your shopping experience that much easier! Feel free to let me know if there are any other examples you'd like for me to provide in a post. In the meantime, I hope you like my selection!

PS: These tops will not make your hips disappear, they will help add to and enhance your natural curves ;)

Thanks for stopping by!
