Hello Fashionistas!

In continuation of my fall fashion looks I've been creating, which I started yesterday with plaid, today we'll be discussing a sixties inspired trend, the shift dress. It actually isn't a trend itself, it's more of a classic piece and silhouette that compliments every body shape, since it has no shape of it's own and is loose fitting, which means it does't cling or contour your shape at all. This boxy silhouette made a huge impact in the fashion world back in the 1960's, with the fashion icons of that time taking favor to it's shape and classy style, such as Audrey Hepburn. Although the shape of the dress isn't a trend, it has been noted as a trend this season since many designers featured the style in their fall collections, along with many other '60's inspired pieces, prints, and silhouettes.

I myself have been seeing them in practically every store these past few weeks, as stores begin to prepare their floors for the fall season. I recently purchased a sweater shift dress by Cynthia Rowley at Marshall's the other day and she too has a ton of dresses with this shape, one of which was made of 100% silk and I regret not buying it for only $50! Needless to say, we will see many of these dresses in stores, so I wanted to give you an idea as to how you could style one for the office, as well as a color pairing idea, navy and terracota, perfect for the fall!

I hope this creation inspires you!
