Happy Friday!

Ah, yes, a happy Friday indeed! It's been a very long week for me, as I'm sure it's been for you, so cheers to the end of the week and to the much needed relaxation for the weekend ahead. Today's look is a perfect weekend look, it's casual and feminine, perfect for a very relaxed brunch or hanging with girlfriends. It features a classic print duo, floral and stripes. You know that I love pattern mixing, but I understand that it can be a bit challenging to try and determine which prints go well together. When in doubt, wear these two, they are guaranteed to go well and it'll add some fun to your look. It's also a combination that would be perfect to wear for work. I only have one suggestion as it applies to body shapes. If you are an apple or rectangular shape, I'd suggest you avoid wearing the stripes on top, especially if it features white or a light color as the base color; it will make your upper body appear that much wider. In the case of my fellow pear shapes, it works because we tend to be narrow on top in comparison to our wider hips, so it essentially balances us out.

I hope you enjoyed the post and that it gave you some inspiration to wear to your weekend gathering. Oh, speaking of, this would be a perfect print duo for a baby shower, too!

Hey Gorgeous,

A trend I've been seeing all over Instagram are statement sneakers. These kicks are fashionable and are a great way to be comfy and stylish at the same time without looking too juvenile (who doesn't want to look like one just a little?! ;). I used to love sneakers when I was younger, from Jordan's to Huaraches, I had them all; it was apart of being a cool inner city kid. Throughout the years I kind of shied away from wearing them with an outfit, although I've worn sneaker wedges a few times on the blog, but these trendy styles have got my attention! What I love about them is that they're black and white and have the perfect amount of detail to make a statement. I'd pair them with a pair of distressed jeans and basic tank for a cool girl vibe or leather leggings come fall/winter.

What do you think?! How would you style them?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Loves,

Today's look is super fun and colorful, perfect for summer! You all know how much I love color, it makes me happy. There have been many studies that have proved that color helps enhance our positive emotions and when it's darker, such as the winter months or when it rains, we are more likely to become depressed or sad. So, I try to surround myself with as much color as possible and I love challenging myself in creating looks that feature an assortment of such, that truly blend beautifully in a way that hopefully inspires all of you. One of my favorite colors to wear during the summer is orange. I feel that it's a color that looks fantastic on all skin and hair tones; it also makes the skin appear more luminescent, in my opinion.

As for the body shapes, there are a few things I would suggest you keep in mind if you are an apple shape. The kind of top I'm wearing adds volume to the upper body, as you can see. If you are concerned with adding unwanted additional volume to your bust and midsection, which tends to be the largest areas for this particular shape, I would suggest you select a different style top, such as the one in the set I created below. The front wrap will prevent any additional volume from being added, while maintaining your natural shape. Also, since this shape tends to have thinner legs in comparison to the upper body, I would suggest you consider a lighter wash denim rinse. The reason is that the darker the denim, the leaner your legs will appear and it can make the upper body appear larger. I'm wearing a pairing that would be ideal for the pear shape, but any of the remaining shapes, rectangular or hourglass, could wear any of the two options I provided.

Hey Beauties!

A piece I'm loving for summer is a longer vest. What I love about it is that it can take the place of a blazer on those really hot days that you want to somehow dress up your look. It'll add a nice finishing polish, creating a semi-casual feel. Above are some different ways that I plan on styling the vest I have this summer, which I hope gives you some ideas as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by and come again tomorrow for another post :)

Happy Monday!

I hope you're all having a great start to your week! Today's look features a color combination that I love for summer, olive and aqua. When I was getting my outfit ready, I started off with the shorts and began to pair it with different tops, all went really well with them, but I felt they were all a bit predictable and very commonly worn with olive. I wanted to try something different using a color combination that I myself haven't seen many wear on the street. I had recently purchased this blouse at Marshalls and have been so eager to wear it and when I pulled it out of my closet and held it up next to the shorts, I felt they were a match made in heaven! What I love about this duo is that it would look great on every skin tone; the aqua has a tendency to make your skin appear healthy and glowy, a great contrast to olive which can make the skin appear a bit dull.  Speaking of skin tones, if you're not sure which skin tone you have and what colors would be ideal for you, check out my video on that very topic here! Now back to the look. I wanted to brighten things up more, so I added my favorite summer purse at the moment, my lime green Michael Kors crossbody. To finish the look, I added iridescent heels that have both an olive and aqua tone blended, which was perfect to bring the whole look together.

What do you think of the pairing? I hope it gave you a different color combination to try out perfect for summer and which is certain to look great on you! Thanks so much for stopping by and come back again tomorrow for another post!
