Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today's look is one that has a very military like vibe because of the olive tone of the jacket and it's silhouette. This is a trend that I'm still not over and it's been around for quite some time now, so I know many of you are also feeling it still. There are a few ways to sport this look, especially when working with a military inspired jacket or coat. You can of course wear it with jeans of various shades, such as black or even olive to go for a more monochromed look, or with black leather pants, as I chose to do. I wanted to bring out the olive color more, so I chose to pair my olive coach boots with the look and I liked the way it turned out. You could of course opt for black booties, which will help visually elongate the legs; a great option for those of you who may have shorter legs and a longer torso, to help visually balance the two out.

I created various looks, considering the different body shapes, for wearing a military inspired look, which I hope you find helpful (I'm wearing a pear shape version). Check them out!

I hope you all enjoyed and felt inspired by this post! Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Hey Beauties!

Today's blog post is on the different color combinations you can use when working with blue as a starter; a continuation of the color series, which I hope you've been finding helpful thus far! Blue is a great color to work with, as it can read professional (navy), girlie (pastel), and fun (cobalt). I created three sets that will hopefully provide you with some pairing ideas, some of which I'm certain you'll find helpful come spring, which is not that far along (thank goodness!!!). Take a look!

Hey everyone!

Today's post is a continuation of the color pairing series and the next color up is green! Growing up, green was my least favorite color, but now, I love how earthy and vibrant it can look when creating an outfit. My goal throughout this series has been to demonstrate how practically every color can be worn with each other, it's just that in some cases, the tone or shade of the color is really important in making the combination a perfect match. In other words, when thinking of a color to work with, we shouldn't really be limiting ourselves to a generic or common shade of that color that we tend to see most commonly used because it can cause us to completely dismiss it, limiting our wardrobe and outfit pairings. With that said, you'll notice various shades of green, as well as the colors I paired it with because I felt that the "true" shades wouldn't look as best and instead, opted for various shades. I hope you find some inspiration :)

FUR (FAUX) COAT: Nordstrom // SWEATER: Marshalls // JEANS: Rich & Skinny (Marshalls) //  SHOES: Chinese Laundry

So it's the last day of fashion week and what does that mean for the styling methods of all us bloggers and fashion lovers, to end with a bang of course! Despite the fact that I was not attending a show, that did not mean that I couldn't dress to impress as if I'd be snapped by some amazing photographer at the steps of Lincoln Center, right?! I mean, let's face it, even if we're no where near the action, it's the time of year to show the fashion world what we're made of, blogger or not. This goes for all of us who have a love for fashion and style.

One thing, among many, I've come to learn is that you're just not deemed a blogger in New York unless you have an oversized fur coat, it's the identifying factor, especially during fashion week! While I have quite a few fur pieces, this one is the mega, the mama of all my furs. Eddie refers to it as the bear coat; it is quite huge, but it does it's job well in making a statement and keeping me warm.

With all that said, I understand that fur coats can be quite intimidating because they can look lavish and make a statement, which translates to people looking and not all of us are comfortable with that; but if you really like the look on others, why not give it a try on you? Hopefully, this look will show that although a fur coat can look quite obnoxious, it can totally be styled in a way that reads I'm stylish, but down to earth. You see, before getting into blogging, which has challenged me in so many ways with my style, I struggled with thoughts of what would my outfit be interpreted as and always thought of the negative possible thought first. Then, after immersing myself into this thing called blogging, I found myself learning that this is what fashion IS. It is a continual creative process which starts off as a thought translated into an outfit, which then gets interpreted. The interpretation will mean so many different things to different people and for those of us who love fashion, I mean really love it (even if you don't blog about your daily looks), therefore we should embrace the fact that people will have thoughts about our looks and one should hope that those thoughts would lead to the expanding of their own creativity, which will then broaden the horizons of what we know as personal style. I mean, this is the secret behind the success of Pinterest, isn't it?! So I say all this to say, wear the coat, honey!

Watch my YouTube video here on my suggestions on the best styles for your body shape & height, to ensure that you'll know that the coat you're wearing enhances and flatters your natural and beautiful physique ;)

Happy Valentine's Day, my loves!

Do you have something special planned later? You know, Valentine's Day doesn't have to be a celebration of only romanic love, although if you're in a relationship or marriage, that's awesome, but it could certainly be a day of just celebrating the ones you love, a general day of love! So if you're not in a relationship and don't have a "valentine", don't worry or feel bad, try calling up some of your single girlfriends or family members and make it a day of celebrating the relationships you have with each other! If you still have no one, babes, I'll be your valentine! I love you all greatly and appreciate all of your love and support, so I would love to be your valentine!

Now you probably noticed how much I've been wearing this purse lately! I purchased it before the holidays at TjMaxx and I don't know, I just have been finding myself reaching for it a lot these past few days. I've been getting some questions from some of you on social media about the specifics, it's by Michael Kors and it's called the Selma; the color is pomegranate, although I think it looks more like orchid or violet in color. This color is no longer sold in stores or on the website, but you can try googling it and seeing if you can possibly find a seller on either eBay or Poshmark. If I come across a seller, I'll let you know.

For the look, I knew that I wanted to pair the purse with blue because I think it looks so beautiful and perfect during this time of year. I ultimately decided that I wanted to go with a mix of different shades of blue and some gold accents in jewelry; I do have one bracelet that's silver, but has a turquoise stone, which I felt looked amazing with the look. I hope these past few outfits featuring this purse (color) has given you some ideas on wearing a color like this, even if it's not in a purse, rather a blouse or scarf, you can use some of the color pairing ideas to create your own look!

As always, I thank you so much for stopping by! Check back Monday, I'll have a post covering a show I'll be attending for NYFW '15 tomorrow, but make sure you're following me on FacebookInstagram, & Twitter, so that you can get updates in between!

Lots of Love,
