Hey Girlies,
I trust that you're all having a relaxing Sunday and preparing your minds for tomorrow's grind, hey, that rimmed! I wore this outfit earlier today for brunch with my boo. The weather dropped all of a sudden and it was pretty cold, so I decided to wear an all dark outfit. I wanted to do something other than the typical all black outfit, which I love, but I felt navy would give it a different spin; I don't tend to see a lot of monochromatic navy looks.
Navy is a cool toned color, which means that it looks best with silver, but that doesn't mean it can't be worn with gold! I would suggest if you're cool toned to go for an all navy look with some silver accents, since it's most flattering with your skin-tone. If you are warm or neutral, you can go for the gold accents (or silver, if you're neutral), as I did here. If you're not sure if you're cool or warm toned, I actually have a YouTube video that explains how to determine which you are and with some suggestions for the best colors to wear, which you can watch right HERE.
Monochromatic looks are also great for making the body appear taller and leaner, which is why it's a styling strategy that would work for all body shapes and heights. If you are taller and don't wish to add any additional height, then you may want to avoid this method, since it has that automatic affect. What I like to do is add a belt of some kind to break up and re-establish my upper and lower portions, since with this method the body just appears as one and not sections. This is something I want my rectangular shapes and those with long legs or torsos to consider; adding a belt can make a world of a difference! Plus, I feel it keeps the entire look polished and clean.
So what do you think? Is this look perhaps an idea for tomorrow or someday this week? I hope!
Thanks for stopping by!
With lots of love,
