Hey Babes,

You all know how much I LOVE color and trying out different color combinations, so I thought it would be a good idea to do a post giving some ideas on some bold, vibrant colors you could combine for your summer looks. A question I often get asked when I encourage other women who generally shy away from bright colors, is how do I know which colors would look good together? Hopefully this post will give those of you asking the same question some ideas for combining pieces you have in your closet that you may have never thought to, giving you more use and options out of your items ;)

Hey my loves,

I hope you're all having a great week thus far! Today's pairing is ultra feminine and perfect for summer. I love blush tones combined with coral, I feel they work and blend together rather nicely. I've been shopping my closet a lot recently, pulling pieces I haven't worn in a while and in this case, forgot I even had! Has that ever happened to you? I haven't worn this faux leather skirt in years and I honestly can't understand how I could've possibly forgotten this beauty; I love it! What I love most about it, aside from the color, is the shape of it. It's a circle skirt, so it's really flattering for women of all shapes and sizes. You don't have to worry about it making your hips appear wider, if they're already naturally wide. Being a pear shape, I've experienced so many difficulties in selecting the best style for my hips, styles that don't make them look huge in an unflattering way. That's why I urge you to know and understand which body shape you have, so you can avoid the frustration and hassle of trying on clothing that weren't made for your figure anyway and opt for styles that work with your body, not against it! Watch my video on how to do that here, if don't know which body shape you have or are uncertain.

I hope this post gave you some inspiration and don't forget to check back tomorrow for another post!

Hey Babes,

You've probably noticed a sudden spark in a certain trend, the bandana. 90s fashion has been making a comeback in recent years, which now includes the bandana. Yup, they're no longer just for those living life dangerously anymore, i.e. bikers and rock stars. They've been spotted all over the fall runways and have now made it to the city streets near you! Question is, are you ready to give it a try?! It's certainly a way to add some toughness and swagger to your look. You can wear them now with a simple tee and shorts and with a motto jacket or trench coat come fall, and what's really great about this trend, is that it's actually inexpensive! You can most likely find one at your local thrift store or some of your favorite shops! Oh, and I'm taking it a step further and I'm seriously considering some bandana printed clothing...what do you say, are you in with me?! Above are some printed pieces I've got my eye on and want to share :)

Hey Girlfriends,

I hope you all had an awesome weekend! To kick start this week with the right mood, I had to go for a bold color and print. I don't even think the camera truly picked up the vibrancy of this top, it's full on neon, baby! Just the way I like it, haha. I loved the idea of pairing such a bright colored tank with this intense print. When I remembered I had a pair of shoes that also had snakeskin and was a similar color as the top, I felt it would be the perfect match. Ya know, as much as I love snakeskin, I'm surprised to say that I don't have many pieces with the print. I do have a ton of leopard though, perhaps because it's such a timeless classic. What is your favorite print(s)?

Hi Beautiful,

Today's look is a fun one because it involves a combination of two styles, relaxed and glamourous. I personally love combining more than one style because I feel it makes the outfit more unique, interesting, and as I said before, FUN! Fashion is the clothing and style is what we DO with those clothes and I encourage you to have fun and experiment with your clothing. There are a few pieces I tend to gravitate more towards and those are bold colors, patterns, and sequins, basically eye-catching pieces. So when I first saw this blazer at the Tamar Braxton collection launch I attended a few months back, I knew I needed it in my life! It was the first sequins blazer I saw in this style; a tuxedo-like silhouette with sequins, which made it very unique to me. I decided to maintain the black tie feel of the blazer by wearing a white button down shirt, but disrupted the flow a bit by adding the distressed denim shorts, which give more of an edgy and relaxed feel.

Now, a woman with any body shape can certainly sport this look. The only thing I'd suggest you consider is if the jacket is double breasted or has lapels. Something so miniscule as this can make the bust appear a little larger, especially when buttons are fastened and if that's not the effect you'd like to achieve, I'd suggest you go for something that doesn't have those details.

What do you think of the look? Be sure to let me know in the comment's section and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

XO,

Jalisa
