Hello Gorgeous Ladies!

This is my first post of the new year, how exciting! I'm proclaiming that this year is going to be an amazing year filled with much growth for Jalisa's Fashion Files, are you in agreement with me?

This outfit was actually taken yesterday and by the time we came home from some shopping, it was too late to post, so I decided to put it up today. It wasn't too cold yesterday, but enough that a jacket and scarf were needed. I decided to take a chance and just wear my favorite vest that you guys know I love so much paired with my husband's Ralph Lauren scarf, since it went well with my look. I think I'm going to start buying male scarves, only because I feel that they're much thicker than those made for women, since ours are most commonly fashion scarves. I felt so warm and cozy and didn't feel a hint of coldness, which was good of course! Now, I want to mention that since I used this chunky scarf under the vest, it made the vest bulge out a bit, making me look as though I gained a substantial amount of weight in my mid-section, which I haven't that much, despite all the food I've been eating this holiday season, lol! So to reshape that area, I added a waist-belt that matched the color of my shoes, creating some cohesiveness, as well as focal points. Goes to show how much a waist-belt comes in handy! Oh, I also wanted to point out how I chose a smaller and thinner waist-belt, rather than a larger one. I personally think that thinner belts work better with coats, vests, sweaters, and cardigans, although you can still  use a thicker belt, if you want to go for a more dramatic cinched in effect.

Do you like the look?
