Happy Friday!

It's finally the weekend, woohoo! I'm so ready to relax tomorrow and perhaps lounge at the beach because this week has been a whirlwind to say the least! Anyway, this look is perfect for a relaxed weekend. It's simple and bold at the same time. I love when my accessories and printed pieces work together to create a cohesive flow that gives the perception of me really trying, when in reality I didn't, haha! That's the fun part of boho and Indie inspired outfits; the prints and accessories do the talking. With that said, printed pants are not to be avoided because they create interest and make the whole process of finishing the look that much easier, since you can simply pull colors out of the print for your top and call it a day OR opt for white, which is always safe. Add a necklace to balance out the print on the bottom, essentially creating interest from top to bottom, which is more eye appealing. Then, layer on those treasured arm candies and voilà, you're look is done!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and feel free to share your plans in the comment's section!

Hey Babes,

I've been really taking advantage of these dog days of summer by going to the beach; I love being by the ocean and feeling the sand in between my toes! I also love wearing different bathing suits and watching what others are wearing for some inspiration. With watching, I've come to discover that many girls are either shying away from colors all together, which would look phenomenal on them or wearing shades that don't necessarily flatter their beautiful complexions best. Now of course I can't grab each girl and share my thoughts, but I could certainly do that here! Above are some ideas of what I'd suggest and know would look great on you while you lounge at the beach or pool, I hope you like!

PS: For bathing suit styles that would look best on your body shape, watch my video on selecting the best bathing suits for your body shape here

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Hey Beauties,

Today's look is a perfect summer outfit, since it's light and minimal in style, a perfect no fuss option! I love this tank because it has a touch of chambray on the shoulders and neckline, adding a little texture and print to a simple and casual look. I've worn it in so many ways, with jeans, leggings, and shorts, but this time around, I wanted to wear it with a pair of white pants and these chambray heels for a nice fresh summery pairing. I love how the chambray is featured on both the top of my outfit and the bottom, creating a bit of cohesiveness and maintaining interest to the overall look. I added a bubblegum pink purse to pull out the pink in my heels and to of course add some color.

One thing to keep in mind when wearing white is that it highlights the area in which it's worn. So, if you're insecure about a certain area of your body, I wouldn't advise to wear it there, as it will then become the focal point. I do suggest wearing it in a place that you feel most confident! Another thing to consider is that just as black makes us look thinner, white tends to make us appear heavier, since it reflects light. This doesn't mean that you can't wear it on your fuller areas which you love, it just means that you may want to consider the fit of the piece and balance out your entire outfit with other pieces that will also captivate the eye ;)

So what do you think of this look? Are you loving white this summer, too?!

Happy Monday beautiful ladies!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, mine was pretty relaxed; we didn't have any special plans..remember a few years ago how peplum pieces were everywhere? I feel as though they died out a little, but that doesn't mean it still can't be worn! I feel it's a classic and timeless piece that comes in many forms, which can add a chic and sophisticated touch to any outfit. The beauty of it is that it helps to create and enhance one's curves, working wonders for those of us who may not have a defined waist or hips, such as the case with the rectangular shape. For the inverted triangle, which I don't have a styling video on but often discuss here on the blog and have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to, it helps to balance out the width of the shoulders. For the hourglass, it helps to enhance the natural curves. What I want to point out is the apple and pear shaped bodies. In the past, I wouldn't suggest peplum to apple shapesbut as I've styled other women who fall into this category, it is rather flattering. It helps to create the illusion of more curvaceous hips, thus balancing out the curvaceous upper body. Lastly, for the pear shape, I would suggest you keep the neckline in mind, as well as how high or low the peplum falls. If it falls low, you may want to avoid it, as it can add some unwanted visual weight to the hips. I myself am a pear shape and this particular top works for me because it widens above my natural hips.

I hope you all found this helpful and that it put you at ease knowing that peplum would look phenomenal on you, if you were second guessing! Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check back again tomorrow for a brand new post!
