Hey Beauties!

A piece I'm loving for summer is a longer vest. What I love about it is that it can take the place of a blazer on those really hot days that you want to somehow dress up your look. It'll add a nice finishing polish, creating a semi-casual feel. Above are some different ways that I plan on styling the vest I have this summer, which I hope gives you some ideas as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by and come again tomorrow for another post :)

Happy Monday!

I hope you're all having a great start to your week! Today's look features a color combination that I love for summer, olive and aqua. When I was getting my outfit ready, I started off with the shorts and began to pair it with different tops, all went really well with them, but I felt they were all a bit predictable and very commonly worn with olive. I wanted to try something different using a color combination that I myself haven't seen many wear on the street. I had recently purchased this blouse at Marshalls and have been so eager to wear it and when I pulled it out of my closet and held it up next to the shorts, I felt they were a match made in heaven! What I love about this duo is that it would look great on every skin tone; the aqua has a tendency to make your skin appear healthy and glowy, a great contrast to olive which can make the skin appear a bit dull.  Speaking of skin tones, if you're not sure which skin tone you have and what colors would be ideal for you, check out my video on that very topic here! Now back to the look. I wanted to brighten things up more, so I added my favorite summer purse at the moment, my lime green Michael Kors crossbody. To finish the look, I added iridescent heels that have both an olive and aqua tone blended, which was perfect to bring the whole look together.

What do you think of the pairing? I hope it gave you a different color combination to try out perfect for summer and which is certain to look great on you! Thanks so much for stopping by and come back again tomorrow for another post!

Hey Girlies,

I hope you're all having an amazing day so far! Can you believe the weekend is right around the corner?! It's crazy how much time flies. Since Sunday is Father's Day, as well as the first official day of summer, I wanted to create an outfit that can hopefully give you an idea on what you can wear if you'll be attending a brunch to celebrate your dad or any man that has been apart of your life and represents a father figure. I'd first like to mention that if you're a single mom, your dad has passed, or grew up without a dad and was raised by a single mom, I think you or her should be celebrated again. Yes, Mother's Day was last month, but the reality is, unfortunately, many women are carrying both burdens, so they should be celebrated (everyday) on both holidays. If that's you, get dressed this Sunday and do something special!

I love leopard prints with a white or light base during the warmer months, although the traditional print works all year long. I feel it gives off a very light and breezy feel, one that is enhanced when paired with white pants. You've heard me mention many times how white reflects light, so it can make us appear a little heavier than we actually are; especially in pictures and with flash! If you are bottom heavy, generally the case for us pear or hourglass shapes, try wearing a top that's a bit more flowy in style that can be easily tucked in to create volume and dimension to the top, essentially balancing out the bottom portion, if you're concerned you'll appear larger; that's what I did with this look. This is also a great strategy for the rectangular shapes, since it can create an emphasis on the waistline by reestablishing the upper and lower portions of the body.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found inspiration from it. I'll see you all back here tomorrow with another post!

Happy Wednesday beauties!

Today's look is super fun and urban chic. The statement piece in the look are these paint splattered skinny jeans, which I'm in love with. A few months ago, I saw a pair of Ralph Lauren painted boyfriend jeans I really liked, but it was at a price I wasn't willing to spend. Ever since seeing them, I couldn't get the print out of my head and when I stumbled upon these Hudson Jeans, which were on sale and the last in my size, I knew I'd be foolish not to get them, so I did. Since they're such a statement, I decided to pair them with a basic grey tank and iridescent heels, which I also love. I added a lot of accessories to tie in with the urban vibe I wanted to create. They helped to reinforce the roughness the jeans can give off (depending upon how they're styled). All in all, I really love the way the look came together. I think I said love a lot in this post; you can definitely tell how I feel about each piece, haha! Anyway, I hope you like the look and feel inspired to recreate it on yourselves!

Hey Everyone!

Today's look is one the consists of all nude, with a small pop of green. I love this skirt, it's so feminine and perfect for this time of year, since it's not heavy, although it does kind of look like it is; I feel pleated dresses or skirts make the pieces look heavier, I don't know, maybe it's just me. I decided to pair it with a nude tank and shoes to create the monochromed look I was going for. What's so funny is that after I got dressed and headed out the door, I thought to pair it with a different top, but by then it was too late for me to go back and change. I'm sure I'm not the only one this happens to, lol!

Longer skirts (mid thigh-maxi style) that have pleats look great on bottom curvy women, such as the pear and hourglass shapes, as they can help to narrow out the hips, if that's what's desired. For the apple and rectangular shapes, I would suggest a shorter version because I feel that shorter skirts with pleating adds some width to the hip area, again, if you'd like to create that effect. For that reason, I personally stay clear of those styles because I love my hips the way there are and don't want to make them appear any larger; it just makes my top section look oddly small.

Here's a style I'd suggest for either the apple or rectangular shapes, which can be found here

What do you think of an all nude look for spring/summer? When it comes to shoes, if you haven't watched my video on selecting the perfect nude shoe for your skin-tone, I suggest you watch it (here), I'm sure you'll learn something knew and beneficial; thank you in advance for watching and for stopping by the blog!
