Hello my beauties!

Are we having a good week so far?! Can you believe we're already half way through the week AND in September (my birthday month, yay)?! My gosh time is flying by! I think that was the most exclamation points I ever used in one line, haha. Anyway, onto the post.

There have been a few times Eddie has presented the idea of moving out of state to me and each time I've turned his proposition down (kindly and in love of course ;) I mean, I'm a born and raised New Yorker and quite frankly, there's no other place like it, it's home to me! I grew up as an inner city kid (The Bronx) and have fond memories of playing all the outdoor games until dusk; jump rope, manhunt, oh the memories I'm getting right now! We never stayed inside when I was a kid, in fact we didn't even have cable, no one on my block did. We were always playing and using our imaginations and sometimes, getting into some trouble with the seniors (I admit, I was often the culprit). Plus, I like that we experience the fullness of each season and what it has to offer, although there have been times when that goes completely out the window when we get those intense winter snow storms. What's fun about shoveling snow off your car early in the morning in below zero weather as it snows?! But it's home, so I tolerate it. Will I change my mind one day, I don't know. All I know is that now, I have no intention. I'm sure many of you can relate. Even if you've moved, your current location is nothing like home and it will never be. That's what makes it so special.

A couple of months ago, The Home T reached out to me to collaborate on this post and sent me this shirt of the state of New York. I loved the concept, of course, plus I was pleased to learn that they donate a minimum of 10% of their profits to multiple sclerosis research. My mom volunteers and mentors for a program for disadvantage youth here in NYC, many of which are in the foster care system, and her mentee has MS. So this collab hit home, literally! Be sure to check them out, I'm absolutely loving this T (here) how cute is it?!

I would love to know where YOU are all from, so please let me know in the comment's section! As well as if you've moved or if you ever thought about it.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your day is awesome!

Happy Friday my lovelies,

It's finally the weekend, yay! I generally like to keep it pretty simple during the day on weekends by opting for comfortable pairings that will have me looking and feeling stylish, while comfortable at the same time; I mean the weekends are for relaxing, right?! This means that sometimes, especially during the summer, I like to give my feet a break from heels. As much as I love them, I must admit it's always more comfy to throw on a nice pair of flats or boat shoes!

Nothing says weekend casual like a white tank and blue jeans! The key, I feel, to creating a comfy-chic look without putting too much effort, while looking like you did, is to add some statement pieces and print and/or color into the mix. These three things can make a world of a difference between boring casual and chic casual and it'll look like you tried much harder than you did; again, it's the weekend, sometimes you just want to get dressed and get going with the fun plans you've made!

Hopefully you found this post helpful and that it gave you an idea on what to wear this weekend, which I hope you all enjoy! As always, thanks so much for stopping by :)

Happy Thursday beauties,

As we slowly begin to walk away from summer and into fall, which is always bitter-sweet, we can begin to feel a little bummed about the thought of not being able to wear some of our favorite summer pieces. You know, the one's we threw on when it was too hot to conceptualize an outfit?! Well, I have some good news, you don't have to part with your favorites just yet! There are some ways that we can really extend the use out of those pieces into fall, by expanding our imaginations when it comes to layering, a word synonymous to fall fashion. This post will hopefully give you some ideas on how you could wear that summer fave a tad longer :) Oh, and do let me know in the comment's section what's YOUR most worn summer item!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Happy Hump Day!

There's nothing like a color block mid-week pick me up! Well, as you know, I love wearing tons of color any day of the week, but it's even better when I wear it mid-week, since it amps me up for the weekend. I love to cherish the moments and take advantage of 'real time', but I really do look forward to the weekends, since that's when Eddie and I do more things together, so there's a lot to look forward to :) I challenge you to wear a hint of color or if you're feeling more daring, color block, on days that you're feeling down, it's raining or it's Wednesday, haha! I'm certain you'll feel enthused and as though you can conquer the world, well, at least your day ;)

PS: This specific color combination would look amazing on every skin-tone, so please don't feel as though you can't pull it off. I assure YOU CAN! If the three punches of color are a little intimidating for you, try combining two of them (it doesn't matter which of the two, they all look fantastic together) and add in a neutral (I'd suggest leopard or nude) to help tone down the look, while still embracing some color!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your day is as fabulous as YOU!

Happy Friday my gorgeous friends,

As you all know, I'm a sucker for anything printed, but one of my favorite fall and winter prints are plaid and tartan. You also know that I'm a fan of mixing and matching and getting the most use out of clothing; and so I challenged myself in styling my fall favorite for summer! I hate limiting myself and my closet to seasons, so I try to think of ways of utilizing each piece, if at all possible, all year round. What I suggest, based on what made it easier for me, is selecting a piece(s) that is in a color found within your plaid or tartan that's a few shades lighterIn my case, the skirt features red, grey and black, but where the red and grey meet it gives the illusion of a much lighter shade of red, giving me the ability to work with either a light pink or coral. I then decided to use solid red pieces in my accessories to help create a nice mixture and I really like how it turned out. This strategy, of course, can be applied with any of your tartan/plaid pieces, it doesn't have to be a skirt. So if, for example, your piece features hunter green, black and grey (a common combo), I'd suggest wearing a mint green piece to make it more summery.

I hope you all found some inspiration in this post! I thank you so much for stopping by and reading and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend :)
