Happy Hump Day!

This post is for all you lovers of everything vintage! I, myself, have a love with vintage pieces and styles and attempt to find ways to create looks that capture that style. Here, I created a wearable vintaged themed look for work. This of course would be suitable if you work in a more relaxed environment or laid-back setting. What truly makes this outfit have that vintage feel, is the cheviot tweed like cardigan. I decided to belt it, since the skirt is loose and flowy, I wanted to offset it by creating a more cinched in effect on top, which ended up creating a bit of a peplum style to the cardigan. The larger belt also aids in the overall vintage theme I have going on, in combination of the chunky gold statement piece, and of course the maxi skirt in an earth-toned color helps tie it all together.

This style of skirt is ideal for us pear or even hourglass shapes, because it helps visually slim the hips and thighs. The same is true for vertical striped skirts. If you are a pear shape, especially, avoid horizontal stripes on skirts, unless you're pairing it with a top that offers volume and texture to help offset the expanded width. I'd suggest the opposite if you're an apple or rectangular shape, since you want to visually create some curves, visually expanding this area with horizontal stripes will help do so ;)
