Remember in last Thursday's blog post I mentioned that I attended a meeting in NYC? It was with a clothing line by the name of MaiGirl. I had the opportunity of previewing MaiGirl's Fall 2014 collection and select pairing options I would suggest to all of you, as well as photograph my favorite pieces. The line was created and developed by a Turkish manufacturing company, who has manufactured for the whose who of women's fashion. With much success as the manufacturer for these well known companies and brands, they decided to launch a clothing line of their own, comparable to Theory, but in a much more affordable price range!
LOOKS I CREATED FOR THE OFFICE:
Now you may be wondering why I decided to create this post for W3. MaiGirl is a clothing line geared at the working woman who has a passion for fashion paired with practicality, as well as versatility. When it comes to purchasing clothing for work, you want to select items that represent your personal style in a professional tone and are versatile enough to mix and match, extending your work wardrobe, as well as being suitable for transitional occasions, such as a night out with friends after a long day at work. Another point of interest is that they're affordable for the quality you're receiving; each item in their line is under $150. This is a standout when you begin looking at blazers and jackets, which in other brands tend to be some of the most priciest. Since I had the opportunity to take a look at the collection in person, I was able to touch and feel each garment and note it's quality, which was great.
RELAXED/CASUAL OFFICE WEAR:
To get into more of the specifics of what the brand offers, many of the pieces are offered in 12 different colors! Something I truly appreciate because sometimes when I really like the design and cut of a piece, I get disappointed to find that it's only available in 1 or 3 colors that aren't that flattering for my skin/hair tone. This is also why I suggest this brand to you because it provides you with an ample selection of colors that will suit your skin-tone best. Plus, if you really like an item, you're able to purchase it in an array of colors, which I know many like to do!
Another thing that impressed me was the size range. Each item is offered in sizes ranging from 0-16 or XS-XL. This was really important to me, since I have a strong plus sized following as well. So when I learned that this was a brand that would cater to all my followers regardless of their size, I was intrigued. I've received so many e-mails from plus sized readers/followers disappointed with the lack of cute and trendy plus sized clothing offered. I do feel that the fashion world is getting with it, slowly but surely, and this brand is a clear demonstration, plus they have experience in manufacturing plus sized clothing. Plus, they also carry petite sizes!
As each piece was explained to me, there was a strategy that accompanied the design and tailoring of the piece for a woman's shape. Whether it be a slimming effect to the mid-section or hips, there was great detail placed on a woman's curves and how it can be properly highlighted in a suitable way for the office, having you feeling and looking more confident where it matters most, work!
