Hello loves!

Today was the perfect day for me to wear these beautiful silk shorts that I recently purchased from Uniqlo, for only $10 bucks! They are extremely comfortable and what I love about them is that they give the illusion of being a skirt, since the cut is so wide. I've been seeing the silk short and skirt trend a lot recently, the whole nighttime wear seems to be growing as a trend around the streets of New York.

Since I'm a pear, when I wear patterned bottoms, I always wear statement necklaces to balance out the eye visually, so all the attention doesn't remain on the printed area. In this case, I chose a beautiful statement necklace from Charming Charlie, which matched perfectly with the colors in the shorts. I'm honestly obsessing over their jewelry, they're super affordable and are of good quality. Every time I wear one of their necklaces or pieces, I get asked where I purchased them from and compliments of how beautiful the piece(s) is.

So do you want to know if you can wear a look like this, even if you are not a pear shape like me? The answer is yes. You can style a look exactly the way I did here, since I have the three points of interest that I'm always stressing the importance of, upper, middle, and lower. I have the statement necklace, which is interest on the upper, the shorts which is interest in the middle, and the pop of color on my shoes for the lower. Also, notice how the shorts have fine pleats? This is great if you are one of those pear shaped ladies that have larger hips, because they have a slimming effect. Be careful, however, when it comes to pleats. You want to make sure if you are wide in your hips (pear or hourglass), that you purchase clothing that have fine pleats as opposed to the larger ones, which can expand outward because of the width of your hips, instead of laying flat ;)
