Runway Inspired Trends For Work!

Posted by Jalisa's Fashion Files on 02. 20. 13. under W3

Hello lovely ladies!

As you may know, New York Fashion Week (NYFW) recently ended (on Valentine's Day) and I've reviewed the top and most practical trends that hit the runway, to provide some suggestions to you fashionable working ladies. As we all know, the runway can be very inspiring, but at times a bit impractical, making it a bit challenging to incorporate them into our wardrobes, let alone our work wardrobes! I put together four themes that I felt you'd be able to wear to work and to other occasions, that way, you don't feel limited with these pieces! So....without further ado, let's get started!

N.E.O.N & BRIGHT COLORS

Designers like Proenza Schouler lit up the runway with bright neon colors. Bright colors are fun and perfect for Spring and Summer, especially Summer. Depending on your work place and level of casualness in the office, I would suggest working with bright pieces that you would feel most comfortable with. Here are some of my suggestions:

Tory Burch Jelly Bow Ballet Flat (Buy Here)

Nine West Boutique 9 Sally Shoe (Buy Here)

Bright Blue A-Line Skirt from Top Shop (Buy Here)

The Portofino Shirt from Express (Buy Here)

P.A.S.T.E.L.S

As one would assume, pastels are a major trend for Spring this year, appearing on Fendi, Valentino, and Prada's runways. Here are some suggestions of mine for your everyday work attire:

Dorothy Perkins Aqua Double Crepe Blazer (Buy Here)

Victoria's Secret Acid Yellow Basic Pencil Skirt (Buy Here)

New York & Company Crosby Street Double Stretch Tailored Flare Leg Pant (Buy Here)

Dorothy Perkins Coral Fluro Geo Prom Dress (Buy Here)

F.L.O.R.A.L

Designers such as Holly Fulton and Moschino felt inspired by the 60's legendary floral prints and patterns. Here are my suggestions:

Dorothy Perkins Black Floral Print Dress (Buy Here)

Jennifer Lopez for Kohl's Floral Pintuck Skirt  (Buy Here)

The Limited Drew Classic Ankle Pants (Buy Here)

LC Lauren Conrad Floral Tuxedo Blazer from Kohl's (Buy Here)

J.U.N.G.L.E   T.H.E.M.E

Designers such as Erdem, Roberto Cavalli, and Alberta Ferretti, have been inspired by the exotic prints of jungle animals and plants. Although these prints can be a bit overbearing, if one doesn't wear it well balanced, you can definitely incorporate this trend into your work attire!

Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins Leopard Crepe Dress (Buy Here)

Victoria's Secret Knot Front Turtleneck Dress (Buy Here)

Tory Burch Cheetah Scarf (Buy Here)

Ann Taylor Loft Animal Print Haircalf Skinny Belt  (Buy Here)

I hope that you found these ideas, inspired by the New York runway shows for Spring/Summer 2013, helpful and practical to incorporate into your work wardrobe. I tried selecting not only practical pieces, but affordable and easily attainable pieces. To make life easier for you, I've included links embedded in the word "here", so you can go directly to the site to purchase them, if you like! And as always, have a very productive work day and week!

XO,
