Hey Girlies!
Today's look is all about blending classic luxury with modern pieces. The coat has a very luxurious feel to it because of the color and faux fur collar, which is removable, but I don't really know if I'll remove it though, since I think it truly makes the coat what it is. I added the grey leggings because I felt the colors married well together. To ensure that the coat would be the star of the show, I maintained the grey color scheme throughout by adding a grey spiked head warmer (which totally adds a modern and edgy element to the look), scarf, and booties.
Although I wanted the coat to truly pop and stand out, I didn't want it to appear as if it were overwhelming me, since it's a heavy coat and has a huge fur collar, so I added some more length to my legs by adding the grey pointed toe booties. In addition, I added the grey scarf on top, which made my body appear as though it were extremely long, stretching from top to bottom, do you notice? Since I had so much grey surrounding my face, I added an additional pop of color that tied into the color scheme of the coat to brighten up my face.
I highly suggest using the technique I used in visually stretching my body for all you petites out there, especially when wearing coats that fall around your thigh area. This will help make up for some of the visual loss that your coat may create.
