Hello ladies!
I must admit, although I love winter, I'm a little disappointed that we'll be having six more weeks of it. I've been so eager to start taking my outfit of the day (ootd) pics outside. It's been so cold and I of course put a coat over my outfits, which is not a part of my looks, most of the time at least. But anyway, I love this poncho/cape that I purchased at the start of the season from New York & Company. It is extremely warm and if paired with a thick long sleeve underneath, as I did, it's enough to keep you warm outside in this cold weather. What makes this piece that much more special is the shape and trim around the edges. The beige trim enhances or reinforces the square cut of the piece, while adding contrast within the same neutral color scheme. I love pairing dark brown pieces with light-medium washed jeans because I think the dark color up against the lighter, allows for the dark piece to be the center focus, whereas if I'd pair it with a darker wash, the look would be much darker overall. So my suggestion in working with darker pieces, if you want them to stand out, is to pair them against a lighter or neural color, it will act as a blank canvas, allowing for the color to truly pop!
Have a wonderful day and I hope that you found this pairing and post helpful :)
